Building Capacity at the Community Level
Afya Nzuri Network recently hosted a comprehensive health education workshop in Kampala, bringing together Village Health Team (VHT) members from several districts.
Workshop Highlights
The two-day workshop covered:
- Preventive Health Measures — Hand hygiene, safe water practices, and nutrition
- Disease Management — Recognising symptoms of common diseases and when to refer
- Maternal and Child Health — Antenatal care awareness and childhood immunisation schedules
- Tele-health Introduction — Using basic technology for remote health consultations
Participant Feedback
Participants expressed gratitude for the practical, hands-on training that they can immediately apply in their communities.
